Let’s get straight to the point, here’s why they’re great:
- Access high-level people (even your ideal customer profile). Inviting an executive at a company you’d like to work with to speak on your podcast is a sneaky way to establish a connection, but damn effective. “Hey, would you like to be interviewed?” is much more interesting than “Hey, I would like to sell you something”.
- Credibility. Associating leading experts in your field with your brand will increase your company’s reputation.
- Learn from experts. Don’t forget about the fact that you will have the chance to pick the brain of somebody with a lot of knowledge about your industry.
- Increased exposure. Chances are your guest expert will have a following of people from your industry. You will get in front of them.
- Build a network. They are a great way to build a strong network in your industry.
- Feed your content machine. A 1h video recording can be used for:
- A YouTube video
- 6-10 reels with highlights from the interview (IG, TikTok, YT Shorts)
- A blog post with the transcript
- Quotes to share on social media
- Short form YouTube videos (one for each topic)
- Podcast episodes (Spotify etc.)
You can either start your own podcast and/or try to be featured in existing ones.
If you’re starting one, initially look for potential guests in your network, they’ll say yes. After you’ve built a basis, it will be easier to reach out to strangers.
Riverside.fm is about the only tool you need for producing a podcast (I'm not affiliated). You can record, edit, create social media clips in seconds with AI, transcribe and export. All from there.
That's it, short and sweet. Thank you for reading!
